In commemoration of the annual ‘Tavira Day’ celebrations, the first unit the new Tavira Business Park (PET) was inaugurated by the Mayor, Jorge Botelho, on June 22.
The opening ceremony, which took place at 10.30am at the Tavira Mercado da Ribeira (River Market), saw a unit revealed that will house a company producing metal structures.
A total of 137 other units are available in the Business Park and are suitable for businesses requiring industry, warehouse, commerce or service space.
In a statement the Câmara of Tavira said: “PET, as both a municipal company and a tool for the economic development of the local council, aims to elevate Tavira’s standing internationally, giving it a contemporary image and a distinct personality that will be easily recognisable in the community.”
Their goal is to “create an active city with great community activity locally, nationally and internationally,” to raise the cultural and economic profile of the region.
