TAVIRA Lawn Bowling Club held a Comic Relief Week of their own with a Red Nose Day Finale. Two touring teams from the UK took part but were pre-warned to “expect the unexpected”. Everyone enjoyed the games that were a change from the usually serious game of bowls – and, for some, it was the highlight of their tour! Tavira Bowling Club has, for a few years, raised funds for the Irene Rolo Foundation in Tavira for mentally handicapped people. The bowlers feel privileged to be in the Algarve enjoying the game of lawn bowling and, at the same time, helping those less fortunate than themselves.
