Members of the Algarve Wine Society and guests attended a tasting and dinner at Quinta dos Poetas, a country hotel outside Pechão near Estoi.
Wines were supplied by Quinta da Chocapalha, a winery of 45 hectares located north of Lisbon and run by Alice and Paulo Tavares da Silva, whose daughter Sandra is the oenologist.
Society members were treated to three whites and four reds, finishing with a new single varietal Touriga Nacional 2008 named “CH” and costing €28.
Quinta dos Poetas chef João Martins prepared the food, which included tiger prawns in a monkfish risotto and herb-crusted lamb.
The society’s final event this year will be a Christmas lunch at the Tivoli Vilamoura on December 7. Email [email protected]
