Tapas ‘marathon’ a success

More than 20,000 tapas dishes were served during the second Rota do Petisco (Tapas Route) held in Portimão from August 31 to October 14.

Organisers Teia D’Impulsos say the results surpassed all expectations and were up by double on last year’s inaugural event.

Described as a gastronomic marathon, the initiative brought 44 restaurants in the city together to serve savoury and sweet tapas at affordable prices, and thus promote the culinary delights that are typical of the region.

Food lovers were able to try a variety of dishes while exploring the city, as a ‘Tapas Route’ was provided by the organisers.
