Minister of Infrastructures and Housing Pedro Nuno Santos has told a parliamentary hearing on the 2022 State Budget (still not yet approved in its finality) that flagship airline TAP is due to make a loss this year of €54 million. He stressed last year’s forecast was for losses of €1.7 billion – and that the airline actually came in with €100 million to spare (having lost ‘only’ €1.6 billion). He added that if all goes according to plan – and thanks to billions of euros pumped into it – TAP will be making a profit in 2025.
