TAP, ANA and SEF all predict “chaotic summer” at Portugal’s airports

Very much in line with what is happening at airports all over the world, TAP, ANA airports authority and SEF have all gone on record today in forecasting a “chaotic summer” when it comes to passenger arrivals and departures. It is not just due to SEF’s internal problems, this time: it is down to reduced staffing numbers across the board; airlines that are already cancelling tens of flights per day, and the ‘huge recovery’ of the sector/ desire of people to take holidays… In Portugal, the greatest issues are expected at Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado airport – already heaving under strain (hence the reason the debate has reopened into the necessity to construct a second terminal).
