Quinta do Lago has created a “luxury three-course menu” for two, allowing couples to enjoy a special Valentine’s Day dinner at home despite Portugal’s ongoing lockdown.
“Celebrating love this year is yet another challenge: it won’t be possible to dine out, travel or even walk down the street hand-in-hand,” says the resort.
Thus, Quinta do Lago has unveiled a special Valentine’s Day menu to give couples the opportunity to have “the ultimate date night at home”.
The three-course menu costs €170, can be ordered for Friday, Saturday and Sunday (February 12-14) and must be picked up by clients from Quinta do Lago’s Koko restaurant.
The romantic meal will begin with a smoked salmon, prawn and crab “tian” (Chinese term for heaven), made with snow crab, North Atlantic prawns, crème fraîche and dill wrapped in Irish smoked salmon.
For the main course, couples will be treated to steak and lobster tail, a delicious combination of dry-aged prime sirloin steak and lobster tail with parsley, garlic and lemon butter served with rich red wine sauce.
Included in the list of side dishes are potato gratin, tenderstem broccoli, butternut squash and papaya purée and heritage carrots.
For dessert, there is lemon tart, a sweet pastry tart case filled with classic lemon cream filling mascarpone and served with fresh raspberries.
Meanwhile, for those looking for a romantic getaway, the resort has unveiled a special deal for a two-night stay for two at The Magnolia Hotel, described as the resort’s “boutique hotel”.
Costing €389, the package includes a dinner (drinks included) at Casa do Lago, the lakeside restaurant with “idyllic scenery which complements the gastronomic experience”. Reservations can be made for dates until the end of 2021.
Quinta do Lago is also offering a flower delivery service for Valentine’s Day.
“Order with our Clube da Quinta concierge, and we will deliver the flowers to the door as a romantic surprise for your special someone. A minimum of 24-hour notice is required for home delivery, so please contact us as soon as possible to arrange,” says the resort.
