Take a gastronomic trip down under

Although there are hundreds of great restaurants in the Algarve, sometimes all you want is something a little bit different and the Koala Garden in Albufeira is the perfect antidote to routine menus in the region.

Opened in 1997 and run by experienced and qualified Australian chef Rowan Bone, the Koala Garden offers a menu with something for everyone.

“We have a creative, international menu inspired by my work around the world, in five star hotels in Australia and cheffing in Malaysia, Switzerland and Portugal.

“Customers can choose from our great hanging kebabs, meals accompanied by, not drenched in, tasty sauces, interesting vegetarian food and of course from our specialist Australian meats of crocodile, kangaroo or even ostrich,” said Rowan.

Adding to the Australian feel of the restaurant are beers and wines from down under and coming up in the summer season there will be Aussie bush barbeque evenings for all the family to enjoy with classic Australian food, bush dancing and some didgeridoo music performed by Rowan himself.

Relax in the picturesque terrace garden while children play in the safe, secure activity area as you enjoy quality, well presented food served in a friendly atmosphere away from the crowds.

The restaurant is located on Rua Almeida Garrette, Areias de São João, just five minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of the strip in Albufeira and is open from 5pm, seven days a week.
