Syrian students welcomed to Portugal

Welcoming the latest batch of young Syrian students to Portugal, former president Jorge Sampaio – founder of the Syrian students global platform – told reporters how he is “not optimistic” that an end to the conflict can be found. But in the meantime, his initiative will channel another 24 students to educational establishments in Braga, Guarda, Porto, Covilhã, Lisboa and the Algarve, so at least they can continue their studies.
