STINGING EYES and bleached hair after a day in the swimming pool are a thing of the past thanks to a new revolutionary product for pools and spas.
PoolSan is a hypo-allergenic pool treatment that doesn’t cause eye irritations, ear infections, asthma attacks, inflame psoriasis, eczema or other skin irritations linked to chlorine use.
The chlorine free swimming pool treatment eliminates waste particles resulting in sparkling and odourless crystal clear water. The environmentally and user friendly product is non-toxic, non-corrosive and up to three times longer lasting than any chlorine treatment.
It controls bacteria, algae and fungi and is proven in long term trials tested by the Health Protection Agency in London.
Made up of a saturated complex ionic aqueous solution containing copper, zinc, gold, silver, aluminium, manganese, iron and nitrogen, PoolSan completely eliminates the need for chlorine, algaecides and flocculants in treating your swimming pool water.
The microscopic action of the ions with the algae and bacteria are twofold. First, the algae and bacteria in the water are destroyed through a change in their enzyme processes as the ions break down their DNA structures and cell walls. Second, all these charged particles flock together and then they are more effectively trapped by the filter.
Swallowing the water does not cause any health hazards either. It is totally safe and non toxic at the recommended dosage levels and does not pose any threat at all as all the active ingredients are well within the recommended limits for drinking water in the UK. In solution PoolSan has a much lower toxicity than the extreme ratings of chlorine and bromine.
Typically a swimming pool with a volume of 50,000 litres of water only needs to be dosed with one litre of PoolSan every four weeks and one kilogram of PoolSan Regenerator every week when the pool is in constant use or one kilogram every four weeks when the pool is not in constant use.
To use PoolSan, first check your filter is working properly before testing the pH of the water. The pH needs to be checked using the PoolSan test strips and maintained between 6.8 and 7.4 with 7.2 being the desired target. This can be done as and when necessary using the pH+ and pH- powders in the PoolSan complete pool care kit.
The PoolSan solution is dosed by pouring half the dosage amount directly into the filter intake and pouring the other half of the dosage amount evenly around the pool. The PoolSan Regenerator then needs to be left to dissolve for 15 minutes before bathing can resume.
The residual level of PoolSan should be monitored by testing the water for copper content, using the PoolSan test strips. The target level is 0.4-0.8mg/l of copper, well within the 2.0mg/l EU limit for copper in drinking water.
