It’s that time of year again when Lagoa holds its popular event to celebrate traditional sweets inspired by nuns’ century-old recipes.
Entitled ‘Mostra do Doce Conventual’, the 13th show will take place between July 22 and 26 at the 18th century São José Convent.
It will showcase cakes, sweets, desserts, jams, liquors and, of course, the traditional Algarve ‘Dom Rodrigo’ – egg threads with cinnamon, which are said to have been first made hundreds of years ago in the local convent.
Street entertainment and concerts will also be taking place during the five-day event.
Entry to the ‘Mostra do Doce Conventual’ is free and doors open from 6pm.
