Sweet toothed local residents have hailed the first Traditional Sweet Competition to be held in Barreiro a resounding success. Some of the most important people in national gastronomy were on hand to judge the event, including Maria Modesto, Filipa Vacondeus, Carlos Capote, Celeste Cavaleiro and Câmara Vice-President, Luís Cerqueira. Participants were judged on five criteria – presentation, idea, taste, originality and the name given to their competition sweet.
