Lagos Câmara has approved the first phase of a development programme for Meia Praia.
The main objective of the urbanisation plan for Meia Praia (PUMP), according to a spokesman from Lagos Câmara, is “to ensure the sustainable development of the area by safeguarding and promoting the environment and landscape while encouraging the installation of high quality tourist facilities”.
The plan will see the existing infrastructure completed and urban development able to go ahead in the area.
Meanwhile, as part of the plan, the municipal company Futurlagos E.M.M, in collaboration with Palmares Companhia de Empreendimentos Turísticos de Lagos S.A, have been granted licences for an urban development contract in the area.
