MARITIME POLICE were called to Arrifes beach in Albufeira on Tuesday following the discovery of an unidentified boat.
The vessel was turned over near a rocky area and some of its contents had already washed ashore.
Maritime police suspect the boat might be connected with drug trafficking but could not confirm that as investigations were still ongoing by the time The Resident went to press.
Two life jackets with “made in Spain” indications were found near the boat, as well as some ropes, fishing equipment and tobacco.
The boat had 200 litres of fuel onboard and six packs of oil, also from a Spanish brand.
