The criminal investigation section of the Portimão and Lagoa GNR recently arrested a 43-year-old man on the Nossa Senhora da Rocha beach. It is believed that the man, a native Portuguese, aroused suspicion, after completing what appeared to be a number of drug deals in the area. The police followed him from the scene, arrested him and seized the car he was about to drive off in. The car, displaying foreign number plates, was found to have over 5,000 ecstasy pills, a mobile telephone and 370 euros in cash in it when searched.
