Lagoa badminton ace Pedro Martins continued his push for a place at the 2012 London Olympic Games with a 14-21, 21-16, 21-18 victory over Austria’s Michael Lahnsteiner in the final of the Surinam Open.
Algarve club colleague Telma Santos reached the last four of the same event before losing out to Turkey’s Neslihan Ygit.
Meanwhile, Portugal finished 15th overall at the European U-17 Championships in Caldas da Rainha leaving Denmark to beat England 3-1 in the final of the event.
