Surfer braves 30 metre high wave

American surfer Garret McNamara may be set for a new entry in the Guinness Book of Records after riding a 30-metre high wave on the northern beach of Nazaré this week. McNamara, aged 45, already holds the record after surfing a giant wave of 23.77 metres on the same beach in 2011. Nazaré is famous for the colossal size of waves owing to the existence of the biggest submarine valley in Europe.
