International companies, Barclays and Sovereign Group, are major supporters of the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce’s special event, which will give a warm Algarve welcome to the new British Ambassador, Mr John Buck, and his wife.
Barclays has recently opened its first branches in the Algarve – in Almancil and on the EN125 close to Vilamoura – offering a full range of banking and financial services, while the Lagoa-based Sovereign Group, which specialises in offshore company formation and management, has been established far longer in the region. Both are long-time members of BPCC and are supporting the event on December 4 at the Le Méridien Penina Hotel, near Alvor. The theme of the evening is ‘The Best of the Algarve’ and, says BPCC Algarve Director Judy Sharp, “the Algarve has delicious traditional dishes, some excellent wine and really superb music – and it will be all be here for everyone to enjoy!”
The Kiss FM disco will also be there to get people dancing after dinner and, to add a bit more spice to the evening, there will be a prize draw for all ticket holders, with some great surprises for the lucky winners! Tickets are priced at 35 euros for BPCC members and 45 euros for non-members, and can be ordered from Judy Sharp on 966 108 605 or by e-mail on [email protected]. The five-star Penina Hotel is offering some very special deals for those who want to stay over, or even plan a relaxing weekend around the event. A mountain-view double room is just 119 euros – this includes a delicious buffet breakfast and a day green fee per person on any of the Penina golf courses. As Judy says: “This is going to be one of the nicest events in the Algarve this winter – and with ‘The Best of the Algarve’ out in force, what nicer way to welcome the new British Ambassador to the region?”
