THE LIONS Clube de Loulé is a charity dedicated to helping the local community. Over the last year, their project has been to provide the Bombeiros of Loulé with fire-protection suits. At around 1,000 euros per suit, the charity has so far raised enough funds for 12 suits. To help the Lions continue with this project, the charity is pleased to announce two more events.
Their next sale of good, used clothes, shoes, linen, bric-a-brac and books is on Sunday, April 23, at the Centro Comunitário in Almancil. New opening times are from 9.30am to midday. Admission is free and refreshments are available. Many thanks to everyone who supported the sale last month, raising 912 euros, enough for another fire-protection suit.

The Lions’ main fundraising event is the annual Garden Party, this year to be held on Sunday, June 18. The new venue is Restaurant Jardim do Vale, Vale Formosa, in Almancil.
Last year, the event was extremely successful, thanks to donations from celebrities such as Sir Cliff Richard and Clive Dunn, many local businesses and entertainers. Clive has already agreed to appear again this year and the Lions welcome any entertainers and sideshows that wish to help on the day. If you can help in any way, call 282 444 874.
