The annual Alcantarilha afpop quiz night was held on Remembrance Day (November 11) at O Frango Dourado restaurant in Carrasqueira, São Bartolomeu de Messines.
A raffle held on the night raised 200 euros for the Royal British Legion, “as a mark of respect for the work that they do on our behalf,” said Alcantarilha area organiser Carole Good-Dixon, who also thanked her area group for their support of her.
The last event organised by Carole as area organiser will be a dinner-dance in Silves on December 19.
afpop is the largest association for foreign residents in Portugal.
