The latest international racing weekend at the Portimão Motor Park proved a great success, with thousands of fans enjoying both the action on the track and the brilliant sunshine.
Italian Thomas Biaggi in his BMW M3 was the big winner of the feature Superstars Series, taking both races in the category which also saw ex-Formula One star Johnny Herbert (Mercedes AMG) compete.
Italians, and Ferrari in particular, dominated the International GT Sprint with Giuseppe Ciro and Giacomo Barri sharing the spoils over two fiercely contested finals.
Also proving virtually unbeatable was local driver Steve Worrad in his Van Diemen RF98Z when celebrating a brace of successes in the Portuguese Cup Single Seater Series.
Furthermore, Philip Baron and Max Blancardi took one of the two Ferrari Challenge Europe races each while Portugal and Spain took top places in the Iberian Gentlemen Drivers events with António Simões/Armando Paes (Ford Escort Rs1600) and Jesus Fuster (Porsche 911).
The next big meeting of this kind will take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) on September 16 to 18 with the International GT Open, European F3 and the F2 Championships featured during another mouth-watering racing weekend.
