SUPERMARKET CHAIN Continente opened its first branch in Loulé on Friday, November 21, representing a total investment of more than 12 million euros and creating 200 jobs.
The new supermarket has special features to make shopping easier for disabled customers and pregnant women, including priority checkouts that are lowered to make it easier for items to be placed on and taken off the conveyor belt.
A motorised vehicle is also available and customers can scan and pay for their own products at self service checkouts. It will be open daily between 8.30am and 10pm until December 31.
