Supermarket hours

Opening hours of supermarkets in the municipality of Lagos will not be changing following a decision made by the Câmara on January 5.

The decree law, which came into force on October 16, 2010 in Portugal, allowed for large supermarkets to be able to open between 6am and midnight every day of  the week.

However, this was at the discretion of each municipality.

At the meeting, it was decided that the Câmara would not be extending the opening hours although “this matter could be subject to further deliberation after consultation with various entities”.
