Supercharged horizon

Official World Superbike and Supersport testing returns to the Algarve for the third year in succession between January 21 and 23.

Although a host of top teams will be putting their machines through their paces ahead of the February 27 season start in Australia, local attention will focus on Parkalagar Honda at the Portimão Motor Park.

The return to action of Albufeira resident Miguel Praia for the Algarve’s Anglo-Portuguese title challengers is to be accompanied by first public appearences from new signings Sam Lowes and James Ellison.

That exciting mixture of youth and experience coupled with the team’s accumulated technical acumen should see Parkalgar Honda vying for the Supersport championship for a third time in as many seasons.

The 13-race calendar will reach its climax back in Portimão on October 16 to lend the January testing weekend additional significance.

Admittance to the track on the three days can be gained at the AIA shop or purchased via www.autodromodoalgarve.com.
