Sometime Manchester United contract rebel and England striker Wayne Rooney took advantage of his break from international duty, due to a serious head injury, by spending several days in the Algarve earlier this week.
The 27-year-old chose the five-star Conrad Hilton in Quinta do Lago to pamper himself in the company of wife Coleen and their two children. “Exactly what I needed,” Mrs Rooney wrote on Twitter, “some quality time with my family following a summer of upheaval”.
