Portugal’s general elections are due to be held nationwide on Sunday to elect a new prime minister.
The main political candidates running for election this year include the current Prime Minister, José Socrates from the socialist party (PS).
His main rival is Manuela Ferreira Leite, who is running for the social democratic party party (PSD).
Polling stations will be open across the country.
