Praia da Rocha is once again the venue for the 16th Beach Football Mini-World Cup (‘Mundialito’) this week.
The action got under way on Wednesday when holders Brazil took on Mexico while Portugal matched up to France.
Yesterday (Thursday) at 4pm it was France’s turn to face the South American champions followed by the host’s second round game against Mexico an hour later. Today (Friday) sees the climactic 5pm renewal of last year’s final between Portugal and Brazil which, if the preceding encounters went according to form, should also be the 2011 title decider involving the two best sides in the sport.
That clash is preceded by Mexico v France at 4pm.
Holidaymakers and residents can enjoy the action live and free of charge while the three-day spectacle accompanied by television cameras will also provide the usual entertainment on the side lines making for a great time spent on the resort’s golden sands.
