One of the most positive aspects of dropping Covid restrictions is the fact that this summer can finally see the return of hundreds of music festivals and public events. Ricardo Bramão of Aporfest (Portugal’s music festival association) calculates the economy stands to benefit by roughly €2 billion this season thanks to the 280 events already scheduled. Álvaro Covões of APEFE (another association in the sector) has explained that economic return is generally six times the cost of putting on these forms of entertainment.
