Summer exam success at Nobel International School

Students at Nobel International School Algarve are celebrating “excellent results” at GCSE level, AS and A Level as they return to school this week, with the GCSE A* to C pass rate beating the UK national average by 10%.

Overall, Year 11 achieved a 100% pass rate at GCSE with most students completing nine or 10 GCSEs. The school also achieved 76% A* to C grades, a third of these being at A* or A grade.

Special congratulations go to three pupils who achieved seven to nine A* and to a small cohort of older pupils at A Level who achieved an 86% pass rate with individual subject results well above national averages and all were able to take up offers from their first-choice universities at some of the leading higher education institutions in Europe. Pupils go on to study subjects as wide ranging as Dentistry to Social Communication.

Headmaster Mike Farrer said: “This year we have seen pupils in Year 12 maintaining their excellent level of success at GCSE, and our Year 13s beating UK average A Level results in Economics, English Language and Literature, History, Physics and Travel and Tourism. I am particularly proud of all of these students and our large IGCSE group who have all worked hard to build on the previous year’s success.

“Our students have risen to the challenges set and as we move into a new school year, with new teaching staff joining us from the UK, Switzerland, Belgium and Australia, we ready ourselves for more progress and new challenges.”
