Summer Ball 4 Rod

Summer Ball 4 Rod is being held on September 5 at A Colina Hotel in Almancil to raise funds for Rod Smyth, an Algarve resident who has been suffering from kidney failure for 10 years.

The event will begin at 7pm where Pimms will be served on the terrace followed by a dinner which will be provided by Lee Newsome, the chef and owner of A Colina Hotel along with Jonnie Pratt from Bistro des Z’artes. A hog roast will also be provided by The Fat Pig Hog Roast company.

South African Wine specialist Prime Wines will be supplying the wine for the evening, which has been supplied at a low cost to enable the profits to go towards the fundraising.

Actor Clive Dunn will be performing on stage and there will be live music from Luxarma Zen. There will also be a silent auction and dancing.

Rod Smyth, 49, has been on dialysis for 10 years and was on the waiting list for a kidney transplant in Portugal but after suffering a minor stroke he has been removed from the list.

He now has hopes to go to the UK for a transplant but he will have to pay for the procedure as he is not a UK resident.

There are only limited tickets left at a cost of 40 euros which includes a welcome drink, dinner and all of the entertainment.

Please contact Kate Rouse on 912 970 014 or email to reserve tickets.
