This September Nobel International School Algarve welcomed a new Head of Boarding. Sue Daffon brings more than 45 years of experience as an educator in boarding schools to her new role.
“When I was a child, I was captivated by Enid Blyton’s ‘The Twins at St. Claire’s’ and what I saw as the magic of a boarding school,” she said. “I have so many ideas, I know they can’t all happen at once.”
Sue Daffon believes boarding provides structure, “which teenagers actually crave. They learn how to live as a community, sharing and being considerate of each other.”
Born and bred in the UK, Sue Daffon attended Teacher Training College with a specialisation in Physical Education. She taught English and headed the Physical Education department in several schools in the UK and South Africa. She also tutored and served as Housemistress in the schools’ boarding facilities.
“We want to attract more boarding students from around the world so we can ensure a vibrant experience for all our students,” said Ms Daffon.
The Boarding House is located in Armação de Pêra, a five-minute drive from Nobel International School Algarve’s main facilities in Porches.
