Successful year for Sines Port

The port at Sines on the coast south of Lisbon saw a record year of activity in 2012, with 28.6 million metric tonnes of goods handled at the site, up 11% from 2011. Sines said its business was helped by the repeated strike actions at the ports in Lisbon and Porto, which drove ships to find alternative unloading sites.
