The British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the south has had a great year, with over 40 events attracting hundreds of members.
The Chamber was pleased to be able to say an official farewell of its own to Alex Ellis, HM British Ambassador to Portugal, at a dinner held at Oceânico’s Amendoeira Clubhouse.
Roy Whitehouse, a Director of the Chamber of Commerce, presented Alex with gifts of wine from Adega do Cantor and Quinta do Barranco Longo.
Last Saturday saw chamber members enjoying a purely social evening at their annual Christmas Gala Dinner.
This year the venue was again the Sheraton Pine Cliffs where the food and wine were up to the high standards of the Sheraton. Betty M and her Boys provided music throughout the evening and several members won tombola prizes offered by BPCC members.
Sheena Rawcliffe, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, thanked everyone for their attendance at the Gala Dinner and also at the other events held throughout 2010. This has been a particularly challenging year for many companies and Sheena said that she hoped that the chamber had lived up to the expectations of all.
She went on: “There is already a full calendar of events planned for 2011, which is a particularly important year for the BPCC as it celebrates its Centenary”.
