Rotary E-Club Porches International has raised over €3,800 during its annual Christmas Market held on November 21-22 at Galeria Arte Algarve in Lagoa.
The funds will be used towards the purchase of an electric forklift truck for the Portimão Food Bank warehouse.
On Saturday, visitors to the market enjoyed entertainment ‘interludes’ from singer/musician Richard Bassett and dance group Dancenema, under the direction of Tiffanie Jorge.
Each day, a uniquely Scandinavian Santa presented gifts to children from local associations.
The Club would like to say “special thanks to hosts Galeria Arte Algarve and their staff who worked tirelessly for the success of the market and Algarve distributor Sovipral for donating several barrels of Warsteiner beer to be sold to benefit the project.
Plans are already in place for next year’s Christmas Market.
