MORE THAN 60,000 euros has been raised for four local charities in the inaugural year of the Parque da Floresta charity fund.
Cheques were presented on Friday, January 5, to representatives from the Lagos Orphanage, Vila do Bispo bombeiros, the Onocological Association of the Algarve (each receiving 20,000 euros) and the Centro Cultural e Social de Figueira (2,000 euros) at a ceremony held at the resort. President of Vila do Bispo Câmara, Gilberto Viegas was in attendance.
Alan Hodson, the golf director at Parque da Floresta commented: “I’d like to thank everyone involved in making this year’s charity fund a huge success. It is important for The Vigia Group and all of us here at Parque da Floresta that we continue to support the local community, local charities and those of us less fortunate than ourselves. You can be rest assured that every last cent raised will go to these great causes.”
