Stunning supermoon rises above Portugal

A rare supermoon rose above Portugal on Monday night (November 14) as the satellite came closer to planet Earth than it has in the past 70 years.

Skygazers all over the world marvelled at the rare phenomenon that only happens when the moon is full and reaches its closest point to the Earth simultaneously.

Those who missed it will have to wait until 2034 to see the moon this close to Earth again.
