Students in the county of Cork have been asked to bring their own toilet roll into school to save money.
Catherine O’Neill, principal of St John’s Girls National School, sent a letter home to parents explaining that because of education funding cuts, the school was trying to reduce expenses.
Irish parents are already being affected by recession and now extra toilet roll for school will be added to the shopping list.
Catherine O’Neill explained these measures have been taken to ensure the education grants are spent in the best way and added that so far parents have responded well.
