Olhanense travelled to the Évora region to play bottom team Redondense who had picked up just two points all season.
Regulars Stevy Okitokandjo, Sapara and Leleco started on the bench as manager Vasco Faísca rotated his squad. Following a goalless first-half, dominated by Olhanense, the visitors from the Algarve broke the deadlock 10 minutes after the break when the industrious Rodriguez smashed the ball home. Four minutes later and Hassan made it two after which Okitokandjo, Sapara and Leleco joined the fray.
Redondense kept the score down until three minutes from time when Stevy Okitokandjo added a third to take his total to eleven for the season.
This was the team’s fifth consecutive win on their travels in which they have scored 18 goals and only conceded four.
On Sunday, Olhanense – in their last home game of the season – entertain 1.º Dezembro at the José Arcanjo Stadium – kick-off 5pm.
Anniversary dinner
Sporting Clube Olhanense was founded on April 27, 1912 and on that exact day, 107 years later, some 200 guests gathered at O Franguinho Restaurante in Olhão to celebrate the club’s achievements.
Player of the Year went to popular club captain Leleco and Young Player of the Year was presented to Lelo, who joined the first team squad this season after rising through the Olhanense youth system.
João Correia and Rodrigo Martins, both of whom had risen through the youth ranks, also received awards in recognition of their elevation to the main squad.
