A joint Christmas performance by the Strings and Things Show Band and The Salvation Army Brass Band will take place on Sunday, December 11 at the São Brás Theatre, at 4pm.
This is being described as a “unique occasion” featuring “an unforgettable mix of Christmas favourites”.
Tickets costing €10 for adults and €5 for children will be available from the ticket office at the theatre, the Strings and Things shop in Almancil and the Salvation Army in São Brás (919 968 768/918 548 180).
All proceeds will go towards the purchase of a defibrillator for the Bombeiros.
Meanwhile, the latest performance by “Strings and Things” drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 80 people to the recently-renovated Graciano restaurant in São Brás. The audience enjoyed dinner followed by dancing to a medley of hit songs performed by the talented singers and instrumentalists of the Show Band. Proceeds from the evening, which also included a collection made by the Salvation Army, raised €500.
This puts the band’s joint venture with the Salvation Army on track towards reaching their target of €2,000 to provide a defibrillator for the Bombeiros’ ambulance in Almadora.
