Algarve police have been cracking down on boy-racers who use the stretch of road by the Algarve Stadium for illegal Sunday night races.
A swoop by 52 police last weekend caught 15 dangerous drivers, 18 illegal cars and booked a total of 45 people for various infractions of the Highway Code.
Also arrested in the swoop was a young man with 256 doses of hashish pollen.
As residents in the area have long been aware, the practice of “Street Racing” dogs the area at weekends and involves a number of cars that have been “altered” out of all comprehension.
