A “special edition” of Carvoeiro’s hugely popular Black & White Night party, which is held every June to mark the arrival of summer, is taking place this Friday and Saturday (June 18-19).
Due to the pandemic, there will be none of the usual musical entertainment or street art in order to avoid large gatherings. Instead, “celebrations” will be limited to street decorations in the village’s centre.
Unlike previous editions, traffic will not be cut off and vehicles can circulate normally.
“These are difficult times marked by many limitations and, as such, the event had to be fully adapted to the new reality to ensure all safety conditions,” announced Lagoa Council, organisers of the event, on its Facebook page “Município de Lagoa”.
While the event is restricted by Covid-19 rules, hopes are that it will still “boost trade, restaurants and hotels” in Carvoeiro and Lagoa.
“We hope to be back in 2022 with the original format,” said organisers.
