Everyone, no matter how you look at the current situation, is concerned with protecting the vulnerable and reduce the spread of this nasty illness.
The COVID-19 virus, fortunately, is quite fragile and can be destroyed by simple soap. Although more knowledge is being gained daily, indicating it is less able to contaminate surfaces than initially feared, dentists cannot afford to take risks and at Clínica Pacífico they’ve taken all the necessary measures to ensure their patients safety.
When you arrive at the clinic, you’ll notice the door is locked and you’re asked to ring the doorbell. You must be wearing a face mask and, unless you’re accompanying young children or someone with an infirmity, you’ll be the only one to get in. Upon entering the reception area, the receptionist, who will be gowned, wearing head coverage and mask, will ask you to clean your hands with alcohol and will take your body temperature with a non-contact thermometer.
Once you’re invited into the surgery, you’ll be able to remove your mask and take a seat.
After rinsing your mouth with a hydrogen peroxide solution – which doesn’t taste very nice – your dental procedure can take place.
If there’s any doubt that you may have symptoms or had contact with the virus, you’ll be requested to defer your appointment for 14 days, unless you’re in pain, in which case they’ll see you at the end of the day with an even stricter protocol.
