Two Spanish tourists, a brother and sister in their 20s, were rescued from Odeceixe beach by the Aljezur fire brigade after getting stranded on a rock by the incoming tide on April 11.

The fire brigade arrived at around 1pm with four vehicles and 10 men and before 3pm the pair had been rescued with the use of rope, said Mário Costa, commander of Aljezur fire brigade. The alert was given by the father of the stranded tourists.
