Arsenal and Chelsea managers Arsene Wenger and José Mourinho are involved in what can only be termed a cat fight. The French elder statesman of the game and the arrogant Portuguese upstart have been slinging mud at each other via the media by the bucket-full. Wenger: “When you give success to stupid people, it makes them more stupid sometimes and not more intelligent.” He also warned Mourinho that he was “out of order, disconnected with reality and disrespectful”. This salvo came in response to Mourinho’s comment that, “there are some guys who, when they are at home, have this big telescope to see what happens in other families. He must be one of them. Being a voyeur is a sickness”.
Come on, ladies! Are these really two top professionals, millionaires in their own right, speaking? In a latest development, Mourinho offered to apologise, but only if Wenger did too, at the same time. Wenger, in turn, let it be known that he feels that he has said nothing to be sorry about. The rest of the Premiership managers must be rubbing their hands!
