Four of the five exotic macaw parrots that were stolen from Lagos Zoo on December 27 have returned to the park.
One of the birds was spotted by a local from Figueira, Portimão. The bird was confirmed as one of the stolen animals and returned to the zoo on January 4. Last week, two of the other stolen birds found their way to the zoo, while a fourth returned to the park on Monday this week. A zoo source said he hoped the thieves had given up on trying to sell the animals on the black market and that the fifth bird would be returned to the zoo soon.
