STIR (roadworkers union) announces overtime ban for month of March

Joining the long line of dissatisfied, striking public sector workers today is STIR, the syndicate of road infrastructure workers, who have announced an overtime strike for the month of March, pushing for salary increases beyond the 3.9% offered. According to the union, Infraestruturas de Portugal “has not shown any wish to compensate workers for the discrimination suffered in 2022 where only a restricted group of workers represented by one syndicate benefited from a salary increase of €85 per month. SINTAP and SINAFE, other unions in the transport sector have also announced strikes on February 28 and March 2, citing “impasse in salary negotiations”.
