The film follows the intersecting lives of three men from Staten Island, all connected by crime and all trying to get ahead in the cut throat world of gangsters on the little island off Manhattan.
Quirky, mother loving Staten Island mob boss Parmie (D’Onofrio) is robbed by septic tank cleaner Sully (Hawke). Sully is desperate to raise funds for in-vitro gene therapy to boost the IQ of his unborn child. Jasper (Cassel), a deaf mute deli employee, is a friend of Sully who is currently moonlighting as a corpse chopper for Parmie and links the three together in this dark gritty film.
After Sully steals the 50,000 dollars from Parmie, the resulting effects prove that there is no such thing as the perfect crime.
