José Luís Carneiro, Portugal’s minister for interior administration, has said that incoming PSP and GNR agents can expect salaries to start €100 higher than they do now thanks to the 2023 State Budget, due to be presented in parliament on Monday. The terms of the budget will have to be debated, but this government has an absolute majority, thus this measure – and the others – look likely to be approved. Said Mr Carneiro: “Young people entering the PSP and GNR will have good surprises with this budget proposal and may receive the highest proportional increase for entering into their activity that has ever been known…”
