A Business Breakfast to discuss Portugal’s 2020 State Budget will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa, at 8.15am.
Organised by the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (BPCC), the event will see speakers Ricardo Chaves, CEO and Chartered Accountant at All Finance Matters, and Manuela Robinson, Joint Country Manager at Blacktower Financial Management Group, hold a presentation titled “State Budget 2020 – Will Big Brother will be watching you?”
Says the BPCC: “2020 will bring some changes to the Non-Habitual Residency scheme, the Golden Visa programme and the Local Lodging sector, amongst others. Will Portugal continue to be the place to attract foreigners for investment and retirement?
“Although some of these measures might seem to scare foreign investment, they can also be seen as an opportunity for others to come and live in Portugal. This State Budget adopts tax policies that seek to remove the pressure in the real estate market in metropolitan areas, especially Lisbon and Porto.
“Together with the State Budget, 2020 also brings news to the accountancy procedures on companies, with accountants now having to submit to tax authorities the SAFT – Standard Audit File for Tax Purposes file that will allow them to know even more about your business: are you and your company prepared for this?”
The Business Breakfast will allow attendees ample time to discuss these and other questions, but also to share their experiences and learn from each other. There will also be ample time during and after the session for members to network and engage with the speakers on matters of interest.
