DESTINO Restaurante e Bar, brought to you by Oceânico Leisure, is an exciting Mediterranean-themed restaurant set in the tranquil surroundings of Jardim da Meia Praia, just three minutes drive from the Marina de Lagos. “We feel that our high quality food and excellent customer service, together with the ambience, makes our restaurant stand out from the rest and appeal to those who enjoy eating out,” Jorge Santos, Managing Director of Oceânico Leisure, explains. Destino Restaurante e Bar offers exceptional cuisine from various Mediterranean countries, including Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece and North Africa. Lunches range from a wide selection of salads, gourmet sandwiches, pizza and pasta, to grilled dishes. At the weekend, brunch is served all day from 10am and includes eggs Benedict, smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels, and a breakfast grill, as well as the best Bloody Mary on this side of the Atlantic. On the dinner menu, typical dishes are char-grilled fillet of salmon with asparagus and beurre blanc and Moroccan spiced rack of lamb with aubergine and minted couscous, which can be accompanied with wines from Portugal, Spain, Italy or France.
The spectacular location of the restaurant deserves a special mention. When guests arrive, they enter a gardened walkway, which at night is lit enticingly by gas fires perched on terracotta pillars. Passing through a striking courtyard into the restaurant, diners can enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail and admire the surroundings and unusual mosaic features. “We are very optimistic and enthusiastic about this new venture and believe that our customers will be similarly impressed. In the future, we will host destination-themed evenings to provide even more variety to the excellent menu which already exists,” reveals Jorge Santos.
